I have conflicted feelings about this boot. Light as a feather!! OMG it's like just walking around wearing socks! Great for hot weather. Comfy. Didn't fit poorly. The problem I have with them is that they are garrison duty only boots IMO. The soles are ok but they won't handle much walking in the rough Afghan terrain and should you slip and the side of the boot hits one of those jagged rocks you'll soon have convertible boots with a sunroof! lol
The quick lace feature sounded neat at first but I'm not a fan. To lace it up, yes, VERY quick and very easy, BUT you now have all that lace hanging around with nowhere to go. Tuck it in the boot? those hard ends will rub and chafe eventually. Tie them around the top of your boot? Then what was the purpose of the quick lace? And to unlace them....OMG what a pain in the butt.
I give this boot a 5 on garrison duty but only a 2 for real world use....so I'll call them a 3.
