Description
All of our products are made out of 1000 Denier Cordura nylon. Making our products out of this material instead of 500 Denier nylon (current military spec and industry standard) equates to a 30 percent more abrasion resistant end product. This translates into longer durability and dependability. All other materials meet or exceed military specs, including low IR signature requirements. These products will give soldiers greater confidence in their gear as well as better performance.
Using a higher grade of nylon does not lead to greater weight; due to our design these pouches are ounces lighter than comparable products from weaker fabrics. Over six years of discussion with soldiers in the field we have learned that “when pounds count ounces matter.”
You will notice that each seam is double-stitched. This equates to longer durability and greater overall strength of the pouch. This also contributes to longer product life.
Every product has been designed with the soldier in mind: performance is high speed and low drag. Current manufactures of pouches aim for secure retention of the magazine- over time this leads to increased wear and tear, need for visual guidance of magazine insertion and removal, and shorter product lifespan. Our pouches are designed around their contents, making for quicker load times and decreased fatigue on the soldier and product. This decreases reaction time and allows for the elimination of all visual guidance while using these pouches.
50 oz hydration carriers are designed to be worn in pairs centered over the kidney/flank area. This keeps the spine open for greater mobility and comfort when sitting or driving, Full access is maintained for holsters and drop leg panels. With dual packs if one is punctured you still maintain 50% of your reservoir.
The bladders that we use no longer have a fill cap. This reduces weight and bulk and facilitates ease of filling, emptying and cleaning of the bladder.
We use bladders which are non porous, which equates to 100 percent antimicrobial activity.
The tube cover on the bladder has a lower profile and is made from low IR materials. The bite tube is antibacterial.
The tube connector has an automatic shut of valve, making it possible to service multiple bladders with one tube assembly.

Product Reviews
Perfect option for some missions
R-TAC's 50oz carrier is just the solution we've all been looking for! It's large enough that should you need it, you won't be left wanting. You'll still get enough water to keep you well hydrated. It's small enough that it can fit in a variety of places, not just down the center of your back. Place it on your side, just over the side's hard armor plate, and it will be out of the way of your arms, your gear, the seatbelt etc. And it's almost like a 2-in-1 deal. When you go on a mission that you DO need more water, you have choices. Perhaps you could strap that 100oz bag onto your back. Maybe, do that AND keep this one on your side for even more capacity. You could even opt for two of these, one on each side. Or, as my 2-in-1 description suggests, use it for something else. Strap the big carrier onto your back and remove the bladder from this one. Now you have a decent sized, but not too big, utility pouch on your side where you can keep a few extras if need be.
And as always, R-TAC products are lightweight, strong, durable and constructed of quality materials. Don't expect this to wear out or need replacing soon. It'll be with you for a lot longer than just one tour in Afghanistan! I've never regretted a single purchase from Recon Tactical and the R-TAC line has done nothing but impress me.
